How to lead a conscious life?

Consciousness refers to individual awareness of unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations, and environments. Essentially, your consciousness is your awareness of yourself and the world around you. This awareness is subjective and unique to you.

The Sanskrit word, Chaitanya, means 'consciousness' or 'spirit' or 'intelligence' or 'sensation'. It is the pure Consciousness or the cosmic intelligence, the consciousness that knows itself and also knows others. It also means energy or enthusiasm.

In other words, your consciousness is made up of its content. The content is your education, your attachment to furniture, to the family, to your name, to the tradition, to your particular experience, identification with a country or your house, the gods you have invented. When you are attached to your furniture, your furniture is part of your consciousness. When you are frightened, when you are ambitious, greedy, envious, all that makes up your consciousness.

So, in a spiritual context, everything that makes you feel alive is what feeds your consciousness. In turn, it fuels your energy. So, every choice you make, every conversation, of every waking hour - even the silence in between - has its own impact and fulfils its due course in your life's journey.

This realization is the key to upliftment. You are in control of shaping this dimension of your life. Therefore, make wise choices; live consciously.
